About Me

These "about me" pages always make me think of that question you get asked in interviews. "So tell me about yourself." What do you say to that? I never really know, so I usually stick to a few generic things. Which I'm sure is exactly what this page is going to look like, but hey, let's just give this a shot.

My name is Sarah, I'm 26 years old and I live in a small city in central Minnesota, dreaming of the day my folks and I will relocate to Florida, or at least the East coast. Hello, palm trees. I currently work at a grocery store as a shift manager while I still try to figure out what I actually want to do with life. I live with my beautiful cat Tinker Bell and am seriously considering getting her a bunny for a sister.

I've been vegan for little over a year now and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions of my life. I finally feel like I am living my life based on my morals and if that doesn't sound good to you, I don't know what would. I dream of one day owning enough land to have a few rescued goats and pigs, and maybe some chickens too.

Speaking of dreams, I want to build a tiny house. I kind of want to build it all myself, with my own two hands, but being realistic I will probably hire someone. Or at least to do the framing and electrical. Oh, and plumbing. Being from a family, and a generation I think, who never could afford to own our own house and always renting, I like the idea of owning my own little space that I can take anywhere with me. And not being bogged down by a mortgage sounds good, too. I mean, can you say student loans?

I recently started reading about the philosophy of Buddhism and learning about meditation. It's an amazing feeling to read about something that just clicks. It's like finally everything about how I feel and look at the world makes sense, and there are actually people out there who think the same way I do. I've always been very interested in meditation, and chakras, and energy healing. I just finally feel like I'm in a place in my life to explore those interests. You can follow my journey to mindfulness here.

I hope that was as painless and not awkward as possible and I hope you'll stick around and leave a comment.

Love deeply xo
